Latest project

I have finally finished this great find, a beautiful secretary desk with removable glass doors cabinet.  The best part....it has two skeleton keys!!!  I also have the insert which has a letter sorter and hidden drawers.  Sorry, I forgot to take photo with the sorter inside, I like open space.  Here is the before and after.

It is all white and I decided to upholster the back with this great French pattern material.

Some other pieces

Here are other pieces we have done and are available for sale....we are not good on taking photos of the before (we are working on that), we just get too eager to start on them and see the transformation.  From top to bottom, we see the rustic two side tables with dark walnut top, a secretary desk with dark kona/walnut interior and a custom cream color with dark glaze body, then followed by a very light shade of grey/green with a dark mix of kona and walnut stained top, protected with three coats of poly.  These pieces will be posted under our "Take Us Home" tab with their measurements and prices.

Dresser re-do

I have to admit I sometimes buy pieces from Goodwill. Like this piece. This eleven drawer dresser had to go home with me because it was a steal!and it was in very good shape, but when I got it home, it just sat and sat and sat. I couldn't figure out what color to paint it! I wanted something simple to work with. After several observations of  which paint to choose from ( I can never make up my mind ]: ), I finally chose a grayish/ green color ( I made it myself) and I replaced the original hardware because it didn't look right with the painted body.

This dresser sold within the first 3 hrs of attending the Rose Bowl Flea Market as a vendor.

Still no internet :-(

Two days ago I posted about my internet being gone, well I still don't have internet, my mistake......ordering the new router/modem through my provider, as I was told I would get it the very next day, well today, Friday, I called my provider since I have not yet received the router/modem, needless to say, I will probably not get it until sometime next week!!.  I said to the person at the other end of the line,  "I need to cancel, I need it now," they answered, "I am sorry, but it's too late to cancel, I can't track it down, but, you can go buy one and when you get ours, just return it, and pay for the return shipping charge."  I will have to accept my defeat and wait for it.  At least I have my I-pad to post.

No internet!!!!

I don't have Internet access today, I think my router/modem is dead, it refuses to keep the wireless light on, the light turns off after a couple of minutes, the thing is that I just bought it about five moths ago, but I no longer have the receipt for it. The funny thing is that This modem replace my 10 year old first ever modem, which was working it was just a little slow, so it was upgraded. Now I need to buy another router/modem. I am able to do this post on my iPad, but I hate typing on this virtual keyboard.

What is going on??

After just posting "Where did the photos go??"  I somehow manage to loose the post I did on Sunday at 4:23 am, now, where did that go??  Something strange is going on, most likely I am doing something wrong, luckly I keep a log and here is what I had logged in for Sunday, October 21, 2012

"Last night due to my little back issue, Kyra decided to take matters onto her own hands and started taking photos of some of our available pieces, she also created our for sale tab, well for now it's under "Take us Home," we don't want the usually used "For Sale," we want something different and even "Take us Home," may change in the future, or maybe it'll become permanent, we'll see how it does.

The photos were taken last night, so today (when the sun comes up, and is nice and bright with mother Earth's natural light) we will be taking more photos to either replace last night's, or just add more. We will also be creating another tab regarding the pieces we could not part with and are now part of our homes (if I had more room, I would keep them all). It's 4:23 am and can't sleep due to the allergy I am experiencing with my pain medication, itching!!!"


I am not a computer expert, so I don't think I will ever know what I did wrong, I just hope I don't do it again.
