Tall Red Mahogany Dresser
(this is a piece that I was (still am) debating if I should paint it or not...so I figured...if it does not sell after re-storing it, is because it needs paint..maybe??)

Reupholstered Victorian chair
We've attempted to reupholster the seat thinking it would be easy as a regular cushion chair but it wasn't easy! After 3 hours of figuring out how to set the fabric and 2 hours of measuring, cutting, stapling, gluing and lining, its not bad for a first time. We still think we should take a reupholstering class though to do more advanced things!
As for the chair itself, it was sanded smooth (it was bought painted already with a drippy finish), then chalk painted with the Plaster of Paris recipe then waxed to seal and protect.
Before
it had a very bad upholstery job
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here the between, it took a lot of striping gel, I did not want to sand it as it had several layers of paint and lot on glue from stickers it had on top.
Here is a before I did of a piece that took me over two driving hours to get to in the middle of the night.
And here is the after. This beautiful dresser did not sit too long in my living room, as a buyer who was picking up a desk saw it (I had just moved it there to take photos of it) and just bought it, did not hesitate on the price, it shocked me, I was not even thinking of how much to sell it for, when she told me she wanted it. It was picked up a couple of weeks later as I wanted the paint and the top to cure.
I just wish we can remember to take more photos, including the process of getting our pieces to the after.

My girlfriend and I purchased the most recent "Before and After" seen dresser at the October Rose Bowl Flea Market. We had assistance to our car (moving and loading the dresser) and upon arrival at home, we could not have been happier with our purchase. The dresser has a remarkably professional hard wood finish on top. The fixtures and paint go hand-in-hand. We look forward to future purchases from Chateau Revivals.
